North Brixton Big Local is a unique opportunity for residents to create lasting, positive change in our community. We’re part of a national initiative supported by the Local Trust, with funding from the Big Lottery Fund, designed to help 150 areas across England. The funding gives local people the power to identify and address the needs that matter most.

Our goal is simple: to bring together local talent, ambitions, skills, and energy to make North Brixton an even better place to live. This is about residents taking the lead to shape the future of our area.

What It’s About:

  • Empowering the community to make a difference on the issues that matter most to us.
  • Creating a place where people feel proud to live.
  • Building a stronger community that’s better equipped to identify and act on local needs.
  • Helping people gain the skills and confidence to continue making a positive impact for years to come.

What It’s Not About:

  • It’s not about the local authority, government, or national organisations dictating how we use the funding.
  • It’s not about individual groups pushing their own agendas without involving the wider community.
  • It’s not about quick fixes – we’re planning for the long-term to create the best outcomes for North Brixton.
